ARL 44 Heavy Tank

The ARL 44 was a transitional heavy tank designed in France but slowed due to the German occupation and was to be replaced by the AMX 50. This did not happen as the tank was replaced by AMX 30 and M47 Patton II tanks instead. The prototype had the ACL-1 turret and the original armor plan only went up to 60 mm thick but increased to 120 later.
